Aircraft sheet metal · drawings, fasteners and forming
Aircraft Sheet Metal, Riveting & Fastener Fundamentals
Build a practical understanding of aircraft sheet metal and fasteners, from reading the drawing to inspecting the finished joint. Learn drill-number and decimal sizes, edge distance and pitch, tool purposes, solid-rivet sizing, countersinking, dimpling, CherryLOCK, Hi-Lok and bend calculations. Ten connected lessons, an illustrated handbook and an interactive workshop help you apply the requirements to original training prints before tackling fresh assessment problems.
What's included?
-
10 lessons + drawing and fastener references

Online completion certificate
-
40-question final · 80% to pass
-
8 two-stage cases + 12 independent decisions
-
53-page handbook + 7 practical stations
Connect the print, tool and finished joint
Read drawing revisions, views, tolerances, notes and BOM item callouts. Keep nominal rivet diameter, drill markings and measured hole limits separate. Learn tool purposes, solid-rivet sizing, countersinking and dimpling, plus family-specific CherryLOCK and Hi-Lok grip, hole and tooling requirements.
Practice the complete drawing-to-assembly job
Complete seven virtual stations using original training prints: release the drawing, lay out holes, prepare and inspect the stack, install the specified rivets, inspect the joint, set up flush-head details and calculate a flat pattern. The 12-question review requires at least 10 correct answers and all eight critical decisions correct. Pass the separate 40-question final at 80% to earn an online completion certificate. Actual aircraft work requires current applicable drawings and instructions, supervised hands-on skill development and the required authorization.
