Distributed architecture

GIA radios, GMA audio panels and aircraft antenna paths

Reception & transmission

Separate tuned-radio, audio, microphone and RF evidence

Diagnostic evidence

Compare command, communication and physical response
Cessna 208/208B Garmin G1000 installations with GIA 63W/64W and GMA 1347/1360D. Identify installed software, audio-panel count and modifications; earlier Sperry/King radio installations and optional HF have separate tasks. Includes a 26-page handbook, six prediction exercises, eight diagnostic cases and a 40-question final.

What's included?

  • 8 focused lessons
  • Completion certificate
  • 40-question final
  • 8 guided fault cases
  • 26-page handbook

Understand the connected system

Trace the GIA radio functions, GMA source selection, microphone and PTT paths, headset and speaker outputs, antennas and interference boundaries. Compare pilot, copilot and handheld-microphone evidence, distinguish GMA 1347 and 1360D effectivity, and understand why a tuning indication does not prove a usable radio-frequency path.

Practise defensible fault isolation

Practise six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases, station-specific fallback reception, path-specific static-discharge comparisons and twelve independent decisions. Complete all lab requirements and pass the 40-question final at 80%. Current aircraft-effective instructions govern physical work. Online completion is separate from observed practical qualification.
