TRACE THE SOURCE, UNDERSTAND THE CYCLE AND DEFEND THE DIAGNOSIS
ATA 30 • Caravan Pneumatic Boots
TM-032 | Caravan Pneumatic Deicing & Fault Isolation
Distributed architecture
Regulated supply, three-stage distribution and vacuum hold-down
Required measurement bench
Compare the identified trapped-pressure loss over a full minute
Diagnostic evidence
Distinguish command, branch indication and actual boot response
Installed pneumatic boot systems on Caravan 208/208B aircraft: regulated source, three-stage distribution, vacuum hold-down, branch indication and the identified trapped-pressure check. TKS fluid installations use a separate course. Includes a 25-page handbook, six prediction exercises, eight diagnostic cases and a 40-question final.
What's included?
-
8 focused lessons
-
Completion certificate
-
40-question final
-
8 guided fault cases
-
25-page handbook
Understand the connected system
Follow engine pneumatic supply through regulation and sequenced distribution to the tail, inboard and outboard boot groups. Understand pressure-switch monitoring, vacuum hold-down and recovery. Learn why a shared pressure indication cannot prove inflation or deflation of every branch.
Practise defensible fault isolation
Practise six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage fault cases, the required trapped-pressure measurement bench and twelve independent decisions. Complete all 24 lab requirements and pass a separate 40-question final at 80%. Study source: supplied Cessna D2078 Revision 42, June 2024 compilation, with individual task dates identified in the handbook. TKS fluid systems are taught separately.
