Distributed architecture
Three engine detection sections and connected warning paths
Detection & inspection
Separate sensing, annunciation, CAS and portable equipment
Diagnostic evidence
Compare loop condition, warning response and bottle evidence
Cessna 208/208B three-section engine fire detection and the described portable Halon 1211 installation. Distinguishes annunciator, CAS and later NXi CMC effectivity; modified detection systems or alternative extinguishers require their applicable data. Includes a 26-page handbook, six prediction exercises, eight diagnostic cases and a 40-question final.

Understand the connected system
Understand how three engine fire-detection sections, their electrical paths and cockpit warnings work together. Distinguish annunciator, CAS and later NXi CMC effectivity; relate loop condition and installation geometry to fault evidence. Portable Halon 1211 equipment has its own inspection, weight and serviceability evidence.
Practise defensible fault isolation
Practise six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage fault cases, loop-radius and bottle-weight comparisons and twelve independent decisions. Complete the lab and pass a separate 40-question final at 80%. Study source: Cessna D2078 Model 208 Maintenance Manual, supplied Revision 42, 1 June 2024, ATA 26; individual task pages retain their printed dates. Current aircraft-effective instructions govern physical work. Online completion is separate from observed practical qualification.
