TM-047 | Caravan PT6A-114/-114A Engine-Control Rigging

Understand connected control paths

Trace power, condition, propeller and emergency controls through the cambox, FCU and governor

Make source-specific adjustments

Distinguish rigging geometry, setup conditions, operational readings and configuration differences

Remeasure and prove restoration

Repeat checks affected by an adjustment, restore connections and retain unresolved discrepancies
Learn how the earlier Caravan’s engine-control installation turns cockpit lever movement into fuel demand, propeller governing, beta feedback and fuel cutoff. Connect the mechanical geometry to idle, reverse, governing and acceleration checks. Work with separately identified PT6A-114 and PT6A-114A configurations; this course does not apply PT6A-140 Grand Caravan EX criteria.

What's included?

  • 10 focused lessons
  • Completion certificate
  • 60-question final
  • 15 guided rigging stages + 8 fault investigations
  • Illustrated student handbook

Understand the connected system

Explain the function of the cambox, interconnects, FCU pickup, beta feedback, propeller governor and emergency power lever before choosing an adjustment. Read mechanical illustrations, compare supplied measurements with the named task, and recognize why a later adjustment can invalidate an earlier check. Operational study records identify the engine, configuration, conditions and units.

Practice defensible fault isolation

Complete the lessons, guided adjustment stages, fault investigations and fixed measurement records. The interactive lab requires the affected checks and restoration evidence, followed by an independent assessment with at least 80% and all critical decisions correct. The separate 60-question final requires at least 48 correct answers. The online completion certificate requires the handbook, mastered lab and final pass; practical qualification is separate.
