TRACE THE SOURCE. EXPLAIN THE FAULT. VERIFY THE COMPLETE RESULT.
TM-050 | Caravan G1000 Radar, Traffic & Terrain System Checks
Trace the installed source
Connect radar power and data, traffic antennas and processors, TAWS-B inputs, and selected-transponder GPS dependencies to the function being checked.
Interpret the actual fault
Distinguish communication and configuration messages, incomplete scan coverage, physical contact, failed inputs and missing audio or restoration evidence.
Verify the complete check
Keep system self-tests, prepared antenna checks, deliberate input-loss tests and post-work proof separate. Use the actual equipment branch and task stage.
Build a connected understanding of the identified Caravan G1000 and G1000 NXi radar, traffic, terrain and transponder installations. Trace power, data, antenna and audio paths, then explain what each observation proves and what remains unresolved. Study the named installations using supplied Cessna D2078 Revision 42, June 2024. Current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions govern actual work.
What's included?
-
8 focused lessons
-
Completion certificate
-
40-question final
-
8 two-stage diagnostic cases
-
46-page illustrated handbook
Understand how the systems work together
Learn how active GWX radar differs from received datalink weather, why traffic presentation depends on the installed KTA 870 or GTS 825 branch, and how TAWS-B and ADS-B depend on valid inputs. Connect software identity, physical installation, prepared test conditions and restoration to a complete diagnostic record.
Practice evidence-based fault isolation
Complete eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases and six fixed records with 20 interpretations and two entered calculations. The 12-decision independent review requires at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in one attempt. Pass the separate 40-question final with at least 32 correct answers. Complete the handbook, mastered lab and final to claim the certificate. Practical qualification and aircraft release remain separate.
