FOLLOW THE LOAD. MEASURE THE DAMAGE. RETAIN THE EVIDENCE.
TM-053 | Caravan Structures, Corrosion & Damage Assessment
Understand the load path
Trace load paths through Caravan skin, frames, spars and attachments using the correct Model 208 or 208B structural view.
Interpret the actual damage
Distinguish dents, creases, cracks and corrosion, then interpret valid depth measurements and previous material removal.
Close the protection handoff
Evaluate corrosion-inhibiting compound (CIC) preparation, product compatibility and restoration evidence, then communicate findings and remaining work clearly.
Build a structured approach to Caravan damage and corrosion assessment. Learn why the damaged member, its location, the measurement reference and previous work change the assessment. Apply that reasoning to inspection records, corrosion findings and protective-treatment scenarios. Study basis: supplied Cessna SRM D5132-9-13 Revision 9 (2018) and D2078 Revision 42 (2024). Current aircraft-effective data govern inspections and repairs.
What's included?
-
8 focused lessons
-
Completion certificate
-
40-question final
-
8 two-stage structural cases
-
Illustrated student handbook
Understand how the structure works together
Understand how Caravan structure carries loads, interpret damage and corrosion evidence, and connect the assessment to the protection and follow-up it requires. Match a finding to its structural location and applicable repair coverage while keeping corrosion-program classification separate from repair allowances.
Practice structural assessment decisions
Complete eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases and six fixed records with 20 interpretations and three calculations. The twelve-decision independent review requires at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in one attempt. The separate 40-question final requires at least 32 correct answers. Complete the handbook, mastered lab and final to claim the course certificate. Physical repair qualification and aircraft release remain separate.
