TRACE OIL FLOW, TEST EVIDENCE AND FAULT ISOLATION
TM-072 | King Air Engine Oil Systems & Diagnostic Testing
Engine oil-system architecture
Pressure supply, scavenge, breather, cooling and indication
Required measurement bench
Evaluate both transducer directions, switch hysteresis and bulb resistance
Evidence before restoration
Separate control, indication and mechanical faults using installation-specific evidence
Understand how B300/B300C PT6A-60A pressure, scavenge, breather, cooling and indication systems work together. Includes a 25-page handbook, eight lessons, six prediction exercises, eight two-stage cases and a 40-question final. Identify the installed indicating equipment and modification status before selecting the applicable task.
What's included?

8 focused lessons
-
Completion certificate
-
40-question final
-
8 guided fault cases
-
25-page handbook
Understand the connected system
Trace oil from the integral tank through pressure supply and engine users, then follow the distinct scavenge, oil-to-fuel heater, thermal-diverter and cooler paths. Explain breather function and distinguish continuous pressure and temperature signals from warning switches and chip-detector evidence.
Practice defensible fault isolation
Complete six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases, a transducer, switch and bulb decision bench and twelve independent decisions. Complete all 24 lab requirements and pass the separate 40-question final at 80%. Based on supplied King Air 130-590031-11 Chapter 79, with the November 2024 effective-page list identified; aircraft-effective tasks govern physical work.
