TRACE FUEL METERING AND ENGINE CONTROL SIGNALS
TM-076 | King Air PT6A-60A Fuel Metering & Diagnostic Testing
Connected fuel and control paths
Follow pump delivery, FCU metering, Ng feedback and P3/Py governing signals
Interpret specific test records
Separate nozzle spray quality, seal-drain leakage and pneumatic test evidence
Explain cause and prove restoration
Connect each symptom to its physical route and the evidence needed after correction
Trace PT6A-60A fuel from conditioning and pump delivery through FCU metering to the primary and secondary nozzle groups. Understand how mechanical Ng feedback, compressor-discharge P3 air and Py governing air influence fuel flow. Follow the B300 shutdown-purge path and distinguish supply, control, atomization and indication faults.
What's included?
-
8 focused lessons
-
Completion certificate
-
40-question final
-
8 guided fault cases
-
Illustrated student handbook
Understand the connected system
Learn why a maintained pump outlet does not prove correct metering, and why metered fuel does not prove good nozzle atomization. Explore the FCU speed-control loop, P3 acceleration scheduling and Py fuel limiting. Diagnostic records name the component, test setup and applicable study criterion so each decision has a clear technical basis.
Practice defensible fault isolation
Complete eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases and six fixed diagnostic records. All 24 lab requirements must be complete. The twelve-decision independent review requires at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in the same attempt. The separate forty-question final requires at least 32 correct answers. The online certificate requires the handbook, mastered lab and final pass; practical qualification is separate.
